The Amtyville Horror

I finished watching The Amtyville Horror today, I started it earlier and had to leave it about 30 minutes into it. Here’s my opinion. The introduction to the movie was definitely a good idea. It gave a whole feeling of eerieness to the movie. Overall, it was a well made movie. Gradually, they showed a transformation of the father from a loving father to a beastly killer. The house that they move into is posessed with the people that were killed there before they moved in. Events happen in the house that mainly only one person can see so nobody else believes it. Only the daughter can see the other dead daughter. Only the father has seen the basement’s secrets and the boathouse. Only the mother has seen the message on the refridgerator. The only scary parts about this movie were the previous residents’ spirits. I was expecting it to be more frightening. I would reccomend this movie to people who havn’t seen it, but I wouldn’t watch it again.

Rating: 9.5/10 (-.5 for non-frightening plot line)

The Interpreter

My mom brought this movie to my attention today after I finished playing a round of Perfect Dark Zero. It’s about an interpreter who hears of a plan to kill a leader of a country. I didn’t pay too close attention to it, but I got the idea. I don’t really have anything to review of it, except for the fact that its plot was interesting, even though I couldn’t find a reason for it to be made into a movie. I noticed a continuity error in the movie where she should have had cuts on her face, then they take the camera away, and when they put it back, the cuts are there. Also, she was getting close with this secret service person and when she left to go back to Africa, they didn’t even do anything. Not even a hug. That was weird. Also, from the movie, being part of a SWAT team looks like my thing.

Rating:9/10 (-1 for continuity error and awkward plot line)
